How does the hours model work?

Every plan comes with a prepaid pool of hours that renews on your billing date. Effective rate ranges from $0.50/hr (Starter) down to $0.397/hr (Sovereign). Hours are only consumed when you're actively using the desktop — an idle browser tab doesn't count, and sessions auto-suspend after 15 minutes of no input.

What happens if I run out of hours mid-month?

Two options. Wait for the next billing cycle and your pool resets to full, or buy a top-up pack — Quick 10 ($6), Weekend 25 ($14), or Marathon 60 ($30). Top-ups roll into the current cycle and never expire during that cycle.

Can I try before committing long-term?

The minimum commitment is one month — no annual contracts, no cancellation fees. If it's not for you after the first month, cancel from the dashboard and you won't be charged again. Your data stays reachable for 30 days after you cancel so you can pull anything down.

What if I outgrow my plan?

Upgrade in-app; the change applies within a minute. Your files, apps, sessions, and cron jobs stay put — only the RAM, CPU, and hour pool under the hood change.

How does Sovereign scale to teams?

Sovereign includes one seat by default and lets you add more at $150/seat/month. Each seat gets their own workspace but shares the team's hour pool, a shared /team drive, and one admin dashboard. For 3-5 person finance / ops / dev teams this is the sweet spot; larger deployments should contact sales.

Is my data private?

Each user gets an isolated VM. Storage is encrypted at rest. We don't scan your files, and we can't read your VM's contents — only usage metrics for billing and support. Sovereign users get an isolated pool that shares no compute with lower tiers.

Does it work offline?

No. The desktop lives in the cloud; a connection is required to see it. Files you sync out (Dropbox, GDrive, git) are yours to work with offline.

Can I install any software?

Yes. It's a full Ubuntu system with sudo. `apt`, `snap`, Docker, VS Code extensions, custom repos — install what you'd install locally. GPU-accelerated apps need a Pro plan or higher.

What about video calls?

Zoom / Meet / Teams work in the browser inside the VM. Because your camera and mic live on your physical device, we don't stream them through the VM — the meeting app opens directly on your local browser via a linked-tab handoff.

How do I move files in and out?

Drag-and-drop, copy-paste, or connect a cloud drive (Dropbox, GDrive, OneDrive, S3). SSH and rsync work on Pro and above.

What if I cancel?

30-day grace window. Your files stay reachable, you can pull them down. After 30 days the volume is wiped. No fee to leave.

Can my company pay via invoice?

Yes on Pro, Studio, and Sovereign — pay by card or ACH, get PDF invoices, add your VAT/GST/EIN. Sovereign supports annual invoicing on request. Larger enterprise deals (20+ seats, SOC 2, custom contracts): contact sales.
